Quiet Mode - USER SPECIFIED PROGRAMS problems

Dear All,

Can any one help?

I configured USER SPECIFIED PROGRAMS on Silent Mode so that when the particular program runs, quiet mode will turn on.  However, after I uninstall the particular program that was configured, I could not remove the it from Norton.

The program is still stated on Norton Despite the program is no longer in my Computer.

There was no error message, norton just could not remove them.

Sea_Monster, I encountered the exact same defect in Norton Internet Security 2010.  For further information and a solution that worked for me, please see the thread “Quiet Mode: User-Specified Programs” in this forum.

Pleonasm....thank you.

But I was not able to search for the particular thread.  Do you have the link for it?  I need the solution....can't stand having items that are deleted but still visible in NIS2010.....:smileysurprised:

Pleonasm...found your thread......I reinstall the particular program and the exe. files appeared automatically in the configuration of Quiet Mode....so, I removed it from Norton.....Seems to be able to work.

Just that it  felt kind of silly that I was so late to find out this problem.

Thank you

I had the same problem, and used the same solution.  I made a suggestion for NIS 2011 to fix this.

Sea_Monster, to clarify, based on my own experience, it is not necessary to actually reinstall the entire application that is referenced in the Quiet Mode window -- it is only necessary to copy the one individual .EXE file for the application into its original folder (which may require that you first manually recreate the folder path) in order to disable its Quiet Mode setting.

Although I have not tested it, I suspect that you could copy any .EXE, rename it to match the Quiet Mode specification, place it in the expected folder, disable the Quite Mode setting for that program, and finally delete that .EXE from your PC.
