I recently rebooted my computer to its start date, but without thinking twice took it past the date I installed Norton. As soon as I started my computer Norton reminded me that I had no protection and should log on to re-subscribe (conveniently there was a programme installed from when I bought it). I did this with minimum effort (just one or two clicks) and CERTAINLY didn't ask me to agree to a re-charge, the way it was presented to me was that I just had to verify my computer to get my protection back. However, I checked my bank account today to find that Norton had taken £44.99 out on 29th Sept. As far as I'm aware, I am not at the end of my subscription and I definitely did not enter my card details.
I am a single parent and a student who thought it was a safe bet to fork out the extra money on Norton to protect a computer I desperately need for my studies. Now I'm wondering if I've done right! I trusted Norton, but the way they debited my account without making me aware makes me wonder if they are any better than the companies and websites I pay them to protect me from.
Please somebody, how do I complain or speak to somebody about this?
