So many threads in so many forums (not just here), asking you to allow us, your customer, to stop your boasting or spam (you call it an "idle time scan notfication").
1. This is a useless notification which serves no purpose - just do the job without wasting our system resources.
2. This notification also appears when the system is not in idle time. Because I don't touch the keyboard or mouse for 15 mins does not mean my system is idle. In this case I am training on a Tacx Trainer using the Real Life Video feature and every 15 mins I must stop to remove this silliest of messages.
3. At least suppress the flipping thing if the user is busy with a full-screen program running.
4. Now some person may ask, why not just stop all scans during this time? Answer, because sometimes I may download or whatever in the background.
5. I have found threads related to this specific notification since Antivirus 2009. That's at least 4 years now! You obviously do care what your customers think.
It is all very making nice pretty UI's and skins, but make it easy for the user to use!

The latest patch to the Norton 2012 products eliminated the Idle Quick Scan notifications, so you should not be getting those any longer on a fully updated program. Also, if you need to suppress Norton background activities so that they do not interfere with other resource-intensive programs use Silent Mode, explained here:
