Re: Auto-Location selection for U.S. VPN..Make areas SELECTABLE

First.. I Love the use of Norton VPN.. especially when making Monetary Transactions (Online Shopping) but don't like the lack of Options to select the Region within the States that my I.P. shows.

Broadband Traffic loads and Data Transfer Rates from a State 3000 miles away for shopping from a Business a few miles from me seems an unnecessary burden on the net.. when I could simply pick a closer state with a better Data Transfer rate ?

The Auto-option could remain if desired..but having a manual selection might be Nice too.

Thank You for any consideration.

I used Nord VPN for 3 years and the excellent service offers a server location selection. Selecting a close server makes a marked increase in download and upload speeds.  In addition to adding a taskbar and/or systray icon displaying an active VPN connection, a server location selector is an important upgrade to a markedly below average Norton VPN -- when compared to Nord's service.

(I changed VPN service because I prefer a U.S. based provider and the VPN combination with Norton Security was what I had been waiting for to happen.  Nord's billing process was also problematic for me when they stopped using Paypal and required a credit card instead.)

This might be a good suggestion for the Product Suggestions board https://community.norton.com/forums/product-suggestions

I have asked this thread be moved there for you.

Thanks for the reply.. I tried a 'speed check' the other day after seeing my IP showed West Coast-I'm east- and the Numbers were ..less than hoped for... I reset the Location again.. this time I got an East coast location and rechecked the speed and it was exponentially improved!.. That's the reason for the suggestion to allow choice if preferred. Late Now and about to head for bed.. but I may experiment again tomorrow and update this post. Thanks again

Without knowing the background details of how it is done, the Auto Selection is supposed to choose the best connection from your location. I live in Canada, and occasionally I have been connected to the US because Norton's VPN feels that is the best connection for me, at that time.
