Re ccSvcHst.exe: I'm throwing in the towel.

I've tried all suggestions in the forum for preventing ccSvcHst.exe from taking over my CPU and locking up my computer. None worked for very long.

I like Norton Internet Security, but this problem has made it more misery than help. With all the posts on the forum, you'd think Symantec would have attacked this problem by now. I can't understand why they haven't corrected it. It is not a minor defect.

So even though I have most of a year left on my NIS subscription, I removed NIS 2011 and installed free anti-virus and firewall downloads. The lock-up problem instantly disappeared.

Symantec used to be such a class act. What happened?
