I m almost sure that after a reboot its red again
Sorry …
you’re right, I just rebooted to test it
I just downloaded an update which required a reboot after installing. On reboot I got a red x (intrusion prevention off) and in the network map there’s still a x and ‘At Risk’ is still shown
Hi Rob_N,
If that problem (Red X on intrusion prevention), can you run through AutoFix (Help and Support / Support) and see if that resolves it. It won't address the home networking alerting, but it should take care of the intrusion prevention.
Matt
Matt,
I'm sorry I wrote "shut down" in my message. That was wrong, I meant to write "start up". I ran the NRTool method and reinstalled pcAnywhere 12.1 and Norton 360 and updated both to current. I have not seen either fault condition yet on the 3 PC's. Perhaps a given LiveUpdate patch didn't realize what had been previously patched and started these errors, but that would best be known by the volume of complaints you folks are getting. Hopefully that will be the last I see of the problem.
Regards,
Dave

Hell Daveyboy222,
The Network Map "At Risk" condition does appear to be directly related to the 2.3.0.9 update and is in work. As of right now, there is no indication that this status alert is reporting an actual "at risk" condition.
The problem you mention at shut down is not one I've heard of before. If I understand correctly, you are encountering this message at shut down only (Vista SP1). Are you getting any errors reported (like ccSVChst hanging the shut down, etc.)? I'm confused about how this error manifests; if it occurs during shut down, are you halting the shut down to use the "Fix" option?
Thanks,
Matt>

I am also seeing this "at risk" condition since the update, however I also started getting "your pc is not protected from intrusion" messages every time I shut down 3 different pc's, all running Vista 32bit Home Premium SP1. All I have to do is click "Fix" and the interface comes up green "protected" again, however the "at risk" condition in "Network Map" remains. All user accounts are Administrator-level, User Account Control turned off.
Could the two conditions be related, since they seem to have appeared at the same time?
>Matt, is there a utility you have that could collect information in the problem area if I should see the “Your PC is not protected from intrusion attempts” or the “Network Map-At Risk” problem again? On 3 PC’s that I have uninstalled/reinstalled Norton 360 on, on 6/10/08, the problems have not reappeared, but just telling you if I see the problem doesn’t really narrow things down very much, technically speaking…
Hi daveyboy222,
I've sent you a PM with instructions.
Thanks!
Matt
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the clarification, although this is distrubing in that I have not seen mention of hangs on start-up. If you can let me know if that re-appears, we'll want to get logs (sent you an PM on that eariler before realizing you are now reporting "green").
Matt
Just noticed that on the Network Map I am no longer ‘at risk’ and have a tick.I presume an update today has cured this?
Hi Rob, I updated yesterday and then had the green tick/secure status in My Network ...... however, after a reboot the At Risk was back again.
Until you reboot after this update you had, you won't really know if it is completely "fixed".
I would also expect that some sort of notice would be given to us on here to confirm that a fix/update has been released ??
I just rebooted.Initially the ‘At Risk’ was till there, after a few minutes I checked again and this time got the tick and ‘Secure’
That’s good news for you then Rob … hopefully it is going to stay reporting correctly now
I was wondering could those users who still have this At Risk issue in My Network would do the following check:
Open Norton 360, click on PC Tuneup section and at the bottom choose Run Diagnostic Report, it is very quick so don't worry about it being ages to run.
In the finished report that opens, the first few details are about the Norton product and its status;
can you tell me if the PC Tuneup status is reported as Disabled .... even though on the main interface it is green/protected. ??
I have discovered that at least three people have this showing who have the At Risk alert in My Network and I think perhaps the two are probably linked given the fact a scan associated to pc tuneup did at one point fix my problem, but after a reboot the at risk error returned.
Something for them to look into if we do indeed all see this disabled status.
Liverbird
I found same thing indeed (in dutch though :-))
Thanks for checking that out Grumpster, I reckon this will show for all who are seeing the At Risk alert and definately related.
Hope one of the symantec guys see this and can report back to their "tech staff" who are working on a fix.
I must admit, I liked seeing that nice green tick telling me everything was secure ...... now I wonder whether or not my program is working correctly and protecting my pc fully ???
I really like Norton 360 too so I hope this isn't going to be another bug ....... I know a lot of users have had problems with the framework stopped working error , I was glad that my installation has been fine on all 3 pc's that I have.
:-)
hi Liverbird43 - yep, I can confirm your observation as well. i'm running a full scan now to see the impact. in honesty i don't remember checking the diag report prior to 2.3 - anyone still using something prior to 2.3 that can confirm that in diag report shows pctuneup as something other than 'disabled'?
mel
hi Grumpster - just confirming that you are at 2.3 - i know there were issue you mentioned with the Dutch flavored 360...
mel
Could it be cause I did not tick all possibilities like defrag a.o. that it reports this? Did you check whether all possibilities are ticked? Mine are not.
Hi,
tried that a few seconds ago. No change....
Cheerio
Lars
If in the Main 360 interface, PC Tuneup is reporting green/protected, then when you run a Diagnostic Report then you should see that it is Protected under status details.
At the moment I have not yet used Backup and have it Disabled ...... so the report shows rightly: status = Disabled.
Reporting PC Tuneup as Disabled is wrong if on the main interface it is reported as green/protected. ............. but, which one is telling the truth ???
