I'm sure that this is a little bug, because the TuneUp works fine. You can see the background activities with a little Symantec Tool. You can dowload HERE . You need NET Framework installed to use it. Please don't run it from temp-directory. Download it to your PC and then start it!! ....HERE you can find the Blog about this program.
i'm wondering what this status should actually indicate, i.e., should it be reporting "protected" even though it is not a security feature per se?
Grumpster - the bottom two options (IE cleanup and Reg cleanup) were both set to manual. i reset them to auto and then reran the full scan - no change to diag report, but in the results of the full scan, all items were successfully run. i suspect that, like the Home Security "At Risk" notice, there is a problem in how this condition is being reported.
anyone at SYMC have anything they want us to look for?
with this status indicator you can see pending jobs, what N360 does at the moment and a few activities. At the moment I can see that there's a pending job for the update. N360 waits 20 minutes after user inactivity and starts then pending jobs. With this widget you can start pending jobs just clicking the "play" symbol. Nice to see what N360 actually does.
My Live update has ran in the background in the last hour ......... At Risk has now gone, green/protected now being reported ....... whether or not a reboot will see it back again like last time I'll see tomorrow (can't be bothered rebooting at present). ;)
Ran another Diagnostic Report and PC Tuneup still shows as Disabled ......... I don't think it should show Disabled, it should show Protected.
I'll keep those instructions handy should the problems reappear. It looks like the remove/reinstall fixed the problem, though.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the clarification, although this is distrubing in that I have not seen mention of hangs on start-up. If you can let me know if that re-appears, we'll want to get logs (sent you an PM on that eariler before realizing you are now reporting "green").
Speaking about the diagnostics report , although it says in main screen menu I have version 2.3.09 (still with red X of course) it says in diagnostics I have 2.2.02 (this under xp sp3).
Can SYM let us know when probs will be getting solved or advise on progress status ?
Just eloborating on that version thing: In the top of the report under Norton 360 status it says 2.3.0.9 however later in the report under installed programs it says Norton 360- 2.2.0.2. I am not really bothered by it it seems not to interfere with anything.
I would think that is correct, my version is different where installed programs are listed … that will be from when you actually installed the program or version 2 of the program … what matters is that status up at the top reports correct version now
I found out how to get the tick and 'Secure' on the Network Map on my PC.It seems to be connected to intrusion protection
For about the last 4 days everytime I reboot PC Security says Intrusion Protection is off (even though it was ON before the reboot). So I press Fix and everything is green in PC Security but I look on Network Map and I have x and 'At Risk' displayed. Now if I then deliberately disable Intrusion protection and then press Fix again when I return to Network Map I have the tick and 'Secure' showing.
I tried it Rob, but it will return after a reboot ........ I'm sure :(
When I had the remote help the other day that was one of the things he did, turned off intrusion protection amongst other things, so that will be why I got the green/protected back ......... praised him that he'd fixed it lol ....... next reboot it was back :'''''(
Daveyboy, can you confirm, the solution in your link cures the "At Risk" error as well as the Intrusion Protection problem you had ?
I only have the At Risk issue which can be temporarily fixed by doing what Rob suggests (untick and re-tick Intrusion Prevention), but after reboot it does return to at risk again.
