This concerns the above thread, which appears to be closed, as I couldn't reply (button grayed out). As a follow-up, I think I have found the 'memory hog' culprit. An old, orphaned driver, location here: C:\windows\system32\drivers\qdfsdrv.sys
Properties id's qdfsdrv.sys as Norton Filter Driver 7.0.0.15 (Norton CleanSweep). But, as I haven't had CleanSweep installed for a long time, the file must have been left behind and has been loaded for no good reason. When I stopped it from loading I regained about 150mb memory. Does this make sense or not?
Maybe a coincident related to some other action .. but, as I have been chasing my 'lost' 150mb memory some time, I hope this is the one.
