Relax -- I'm sure all is not lost.
You bought a package of three different applications: NAV, NSW and Confidential?
When you installed them 2 weeks ago, what order did you install them in and what error messages did you get if any?
Leaving aside for the moment what the Norton person told you about not being compatible, did they install and do they apparently work?
Hi djmalisk,
Try installing them in this order:
Norton Confidential
Norton AntiVirus
Norton SystemWorks
These three programs should run together without problems. Let me know how this works for you.
Do you have any other Symantec software installed on your system when you attempt to install these three?
Ok, first I installed Antivirus, then Confidential, then System Works!
The Norton Antvirus when you do a full or quick Scan, it freezes in 5125 file. but when you do custom scan, it scans without any problem. The system works, it works without any problem! Confidential says: THe software is not cofigured. To configure please press CONTINUE. You press continue, won't do anything!:( also Goback thing, wont set up for nothing:(
So, i was chatting with one of the reps @ Symantec the other day. His Name was: . and he said that Confidential and Norton Antivirus 2008 are not compatible with each other!? SO i told him what should i do: First he said: Well you have to use Norton System works & Antivirus 2008, and don;t use Confidential because it's not comaptible with those 2. So i said: i bought the Software for nothing! I asked the guy why they don't work all together: He did'nt have any answer. He just told me, you can send us the CD-s and we will give you a refund! I dont want refund. I've been using Norton Internet security since 2004 and i'm happy with it, but at CHRISTMAS time last year, Best buy had a BUNDLE BOX of those 3 softwares together, and the price was decent $29.99 and i bought them, but since i had protection untill 2 weeks ago, i didnt use them since when i bought them. And now i found out that i cant use them, acording to Haroon Sheriff.
I called last night Symantec to ask them, if they would give me a refund, since i bought them in December 2007! But gues what: i waited on the line for 43 minutes, and never got any answer. I guess the people we're busy. So i just got tired of waiting, and hung up!
Really i need help here, it's not much $29.99, it's the principal!?
Tim Lopez, i am going to try to install them in your order, and see if it's going to work!

Hi Ismail,
Thank you for contacting Norton Support.
I understand from your message that you are facing issues with the Norton Confidential program.
Please note that Norton Confidential and Norton AntiVirus 2008 program cannot co-exist on same computer. This issue occurs after installing the latest updates for Norton AntiVirus 2008 program. Please uninstall the Norton Confidential program from your computer and use only Norton AntiVirus 2008. I do understand that you will be loosing the subscription for Norton Confidential program, hence we have a option of transferring the subscription of Norton Confidential program to Norton AntiVirus 2008. If you wish us to do the same then please let us know the Product Key of Norton AntiVirus 2008 .
This is the answer mr. Lopez!?

The agent is incorrect. One thing that might help is if you install NAV2009. Anyone with a current subscription to 2007 or higher is entitled to the latest version. You can get it from the following:
The scanning problem you described sounds like a problemmatic file rather than an issue with being installed with NCO alongside. See if using NAV 2009 solves the problem. If the Configuration issue continues with NCO, run the LMTS tool that can be download from the following link:
Hi Eric, I installed NAV2009, and i didnt have that problem when i run a quick & full scan to my computer!
Also, I installed the SYSTEM WORKS, but never got chance to set up GO BACK option! and it stays the RED X on the tray for some reason! ANy solution with this!?
After i installed the NAV 2009 and SYstem works! should i install the COnfidential too!?
thank you
Within NSW run LiveUpdate and then reboot. That will get rid of that Red X you see in NSW. After that you can install NCO if you would like.
Hi Eric,
i will try to do what you told me to, and see if it's going to work:)
thanks for your help
