Ready to drop Norton forever after using it for many many years

I have been using Norton for more years than I can count. In the last year or so, Norton has made it near impossible to renew a subscription with one that I purchased at an authorized reseller (e.g. Amazon). Keys are no longer provided. In the past, I have entered the key for the new license and updated the software if necessary. Now it insists on my uninstalling what I have (losing what is left of my subscription) and moving the new subscription to Norton and reinstalling. It also seems to have me do this a couple of times.

I am so sick of this business practice, that when I use my last license, I will never buy Norton again. I am now using MalwareBytes in parallel with Norton. Your upselling and preventing users from buying the software from other sources appear to be turning off many other customers. Another thread on the same issue was locked, presumably because it suggested moving on. I have had LifeLock independently for a number of years and will be switching to another service, just because of your business practices.

Why you destroy a product and alienate your customers is beyond anybody's guess, but you have done it. Last year I loaded my license to the Norton server as I have done for years, but your new disgusting business practice started the subscription as soon as I uploaded it, not waiting for me to install it on a machine.

I'm done with Norton. How many others have the same feelings?

Common mistakes when entering product key

 • Spaces in the product key will cause an error.

 • Make sure that you are entering license information for the specific product you are using. License information for one Norton product is not interchangeable with another Norton product.

 • If you still see a message indicating incorrect or invalid licensing information, verify that you typed the license information exactly as shown.

Some characters (such as the number 0 and the letter O) can look very similar. Try double-checking the following: the letters O, l (lower-case l), I (capital I); and the numbers 0 (zero) and 1 (one).

What is your geo-location? US?

I have found Norton service has gone downhill. Have been a customer for many years but have had so much problem renewing my subscription this year which is not 360 - the product key is not been accepted and states invalid key - no idea why - have checked and rechecked the typing of the product key and still no luck - tried to get support by telephone and online and no luck - support staff seems to not know what to do about it - so have given up with Norton subscriptions
