Last night I launched a backup of my 298GB of data on my D drive to an external USB drive witn 452GB free space. This has been doing fine for months. I have been letting it run at night and when I get up in the morning it's done (takes more than two hours). But, this morning when I looked, the Progress and Performance box said it was only at 3 percent and still working!
Note: this follows a recent unexplained error message I got saying:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Norton Ghost
Event Category: High Priority
Event ID: 100
Date: 11/14/2011
Time: 8:55:45 PM
User: N/A
Computer: PC
Description:
Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of DRV7_VOL1 (D:\).
Error E7D1001E: Unable to read from file. Error EBAB03F1: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service. (UMI:V-281-3215-6071)
Tried to Google this error but only found references to a version of Ghost used by businesses. So I rebooted and launched the backup that is grinding away at 3 percent after more than 8 hours.
