I was watching TWIT.tv Security Now where Steve Gibson recommended running Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper. I ran it after NIS completed a full scan. Sweeper detected a worm named rebhip.A that NIS missed. It also removed it.
Sweeper is too slow to be used regularly, except maybe overnight. Any reason NIS missed this worm? Any plans for detecting it?
