Trying to post messages on this forum is a nightmare with this reCAPTCHA thingy. It took me about fifteen minutes to reply to a message I had received as a reply to my original query. Sometimes, I couldn't make out the reCAPTCHA letters and even when I could (after refreshing the challenge) and after carefully inputting the displayed letters, my post was still rejected. I would estimate this happened at least seven or eight times and I almost gave up trying. This is the first time I have come across a forum that continually requires this hurdle to be overcome.
Oh well, here goes...back to the dreaded reCAPTCHA... I'm going to list the failures this time to see how many times my message is rejected.
Well, that was a surprise; only one failure that time. I'll repeat the exercise once more. No doubt it will work better now because it knows I am keeping a record. Here goes...

Brian,
The feature will only 'bug' you for a limited number of postings. If it becomes too much of a pain in the seat you can use the private message feature [that envlope in the upper right hand corner of the page and ask one of the moderators to disable it for you. No promises but it can be done
As Dick has said it only blocks for a limited number of posts and is meant to stop autospamming by third parties,
If it really is a difficulty for you -- say you have poor eyesight -- then as Dick mentioned if you send a private message using the icon up right with a request a Staffer may be able sort it out. Note that Private Messages have to be addressed to someone and so you should try using Tony_Weiss since he made the offer recently.
