Does anyone know if there is a version of Ghost Explorer that is able to read/restore files from Ghost V2I images?
I backed up my older system using Ghost 9 and would like to restore some files. I have the V2I files, but the PC that made them has failed. My new PC is Windows 7 and I can't install Ghost 9 on that !!.
I downloaded Ghost Explorer from Symantec FTP site but it only opens GHO files.
Any suggestions?
Search the Ghost 9 CD for a file named PQIBROWSER.exe. It is also on the NSW2005 Premier Recovery CD (CDDRIVE LETTER:\I386\START\ADVANCED\ML\PQIBROWSER.exe) if that is the suite you originally installed Ghost 9 from. It will complain about not being compatible with Windows 7. Click run and it seems to work fine. I can't open any v2i files because my v2i files were created with Ghost 15. I don't have any v2i files created by Ghost 9 anymore, at least not handy.
Oh and BTW, you could install Ghost 9 in Windows XP Mode.

Thanks very much for both suggestions. I did try the PQIBrowser - although it allowed me to locate the file, when I went to open it there was a fatal error message that the Symantec Service was not found.
I downloaded a trial of Ghost 15 which does indeed open the file and I am able to see the contents.
Guess I may be purchasing the new version sooner than I thought :)
Thanks again.
Good to hear you were able to get what you needed.
