Recovery Point Set File Architecture

Sorry folks, another question.

One thing I have been wondering about is how the base file and its multiple incremental files work for Recovery Point Sets in NG if you are allowed to delete individual incremental restore points within a set - such as described on page 128 of the manual, "Deleting Recovery Points Within a Set".

Currently, on the backup target drive, I see one .v2i file at 47G.

Next, there are 14 files with these extensions:

i001iv2i

i015iv2i

i016iv2i

i017iv2i

i018iv2i

... (contiguous)

i026iv2i

i027iv2i

Points i002iv2i through i014iv2i have been deleted via past manual intervention(s).

My understanding with other products is that with an incremental-based backup scheme, the base file plus all of the increments would get you back to current if you had to restore.

Since NG allows individual points to be deleted within a set, how could there be any integrity - how could it even work if you removed any of the incremental files?

Thanks again.
