I have Norton Ghost 15. A scheduled backup is processed on a daily basis.
Yesterday I needed to recover some large postgres databases on my computer.
If I use the Recovery Point Browser then I can recovery the database but instead of the original size (115 GB) the recovered database is much smaller (32 GB) and Postgres can't connect it :-(
If I mount the recovery point then the size of the database seems to be almost the same as the original (103 GB) but once I try to copy it to the original place it copies a few files successfully and then I get an error message saying that the file on the disk (on the mounted one) can't be read. :-(
I also tried to recover some smaller files on these ways and got the same result: if I use the recovery function then the files don't work (including some executable files), and if I mount the recovery point and copy the files then I got the error message about the non-readable source disk.
Any ideas?
You may be having problems due to the sql database being in use or locked, or a permission problem.
Try restoring it to another location on the same partition.
You also may want to try restoring it "outside" of windows to see if it's a windows problem.
Boot the recovery disk and go to: Analyze > Explorer My Computer
Navigate to the image and open it in the image explorer, restore the database the same way you tried before.
Best of Luck,
Dave

I tried and it didn't help.

I tried that one, too. No success. :-(
Any more ideas?
