Hello everyone!
I was wondering if anyone knows what this is. Everytime I start up my computer there is a file on the desktop named "temp_%1%2", the description in Properties mentions it is "Amazon Kindle Installer", 23.2 MB. I delete it, empty it out of the Recycle Bin and it shows up again on start up. I had Kindle for PC for many months and this never came up. I right clicked and clicked on "Norton" and then "Insight Network Scan", it scanned the file and it said it was safe. It is not a shortcut on the desktop.
I did a disk cleanup from my computer, ran a full scan, and Norton Power Eraser and it is still on the desktop. I attempted to open it and it asks me what program to open it under, I didn't continue. In add and remove programs that file is not there, but 'Amazon Kindle' is. I am thinking of deleting that program and see what happens.
I have Windows 7 and Norton AntiVirus 2011. I had something similar to this many years ago. I got frustrated with no solutions I just restored the hard drive. A pain in the **bleep**!
It is annoying and I don't know if it is something harmful. Just because it mentions it has to do with a program on my computer, i.e., Amazon Kindle, I gather it does not mean it has anything to do with it if it is malicious.
Sorry if this post is vague in any way. Please let me know if anyone would like more information. I appreciate any insight or help. Thank you!
