Hey everyone, I have a concern to share with you all and would like help with it if possible. Recently, yesterday to be exact, one of my friends on Facebook private messaged me a link, and I clicked on it and downloaded it foolishly. After that, Norton started to go crazy with its blocking notifications. So, noticing this, I removed the program and restored my settings that got changed from the download. Apparently, my friend got hacked and have been sending infected links around to everyone. After this, I have done full system scans in safe mode and Norton found 1 threat that was considered "High" (cheatsconverter.exe), and it was quarantined. Malwarebytes also found 23 objects infected and it successfully removed them.
But, I have still been receiving numerous intrusion attempts by "HTTP Koobface C and C Update Communication". That is the risk name that each intrusion attempt that are blocked have in common, but each intrusion attempt that is blocked are from different attacking urls. I heard that there was a way to stop these intrusion attempts and I would like some advice and step by step help to deal with this problem if it can be helped. Thank you for your time.
Edit: I just wanted to add that when I downloaded the link, it turned my "User Account Control" off. I turned it back on immediately after noticing the intrusion attempts when it happened yesterday.
