I wasn't sure if this should go on the NIS board or the Off Topic board. Apologies if it's in the wrong place.
I was on Twitter on IE 10. Someone kept sending me @s. When I clicked on their user profiler, their tweet stream was filled with pictures and spammy retweets. As I was leaving the page, my computer made a strange beeping noise. A minute later, a red x appeared on the white flag for the Windows Action Center. The X disappeared before I could click on it and everything in the Action Center looks as it should, but the two things together are freaking me out a bit.
Didn't see anything weird in the Norton logs. Running a full scan with NIS now and will run a full scan with Malwarebytes after that's finished.
If neither program finds anything, should I still be concerned?
Also, can the red x on the action center flash without there being something wrong? There have been a few times when I thought I saw it flash/change out of the corner of my eye but this is the first time it happened while I was looking right at it/was sure.
Sorry to sound so paranoid.

Update: I noticed the red x appear twice while waiting for the scan to finish. Both times seemed to coincide with automatic live updates so maybe it's just normal behaviour that I'm only now noticing?
