Hello,
Recently I've been experiencing the malware re-directors in chrome that bring you to a page that says you've on x prize or that your device has been infected. I've never clicked any of the links or done anything that these pages says, I simply have been closing the page and rebooting the device. When searching online for possible causes and ways to remedy these re-directors I've found a few things. I just want to know if I've done everything to remove the threat and to ensure my data and device are again secure. Here is what has been done:
1. Cleaned all data caches for Google as well as the device.
2. Run multiple scans with different AV and AM programs separately (None of which found an issue).
3. Checked my DNS settings in the modem to make sure there was no changes done there (still set to acquire DNS automatically from ISP).
I'd prefer to not turn javascripts off while using Chrome. I do understand certain websites simply have the scripts that once certain conditions are met (I.E. mobile device is browsing) these re-directors work. I just wanted to make sure that I've done what is necessary to protect my device and the data on it.
Any help would greatly be appreciated,
Thanks
