would be my guess that they applied or charged the auto renewal which would be why you got charged

and with the card you provided in your account ( more or less giving them consent to charge the fee)

If you do not want automatic renewal service...best to cancel recurring subscription service & remove payment details...after Norton product setup/activation.

Users not able/allowed to change automatic renewal status. 
If you do not want automatic renewal service...best to cancel recurring subscription service & remove payment details...after Norton product setup/activation. 

Users may submit Cancellation & Refund Request online. 
Users may message Facebook/Norton, Xtwitter/Norton for cancellation and refund.
Users may generate a Norton Chat session or call Norton support via Norton Official Support website 'support.norton.com'

you will need to contact support directly for the refund not sure if you need to call or can send a email ( do they have a email contact?)

There is no one in the forums that can access accounts to process refunds.
