Hi, willmck. If everything else is running correctly, I'd advise against using the registry clean option in Norton 360.
Not sure what O/S you're running but if it's Windows 7, it does a pretty good job of managing the registry anyway.
Registry cleaners are not needed, and often do more harm than good, sometimes removing critical files.
Keep your system defragged, and use a safe file cleaner like CCleaner in it's default settings, and do NOT use the registry clean section.
The safest option is to open N360 and click Settings > Task Scheduling and uncheck Registry Cleanup .

My personal experience (rather sad ) fully confirms the correctness of the proposal.
