The Registry Cleanup feature on my Norton 360 (which I installed recently) starts running and gets stuck at 39%, with the 'Status' showing that it is running. I left it running for even two hours but to no avail, the progress stays at 39%. Now my Norton 360 home page warns that my PC tuneup needs attention, and when I click on the Fix button, once again the same thing happens, i.e., the Registry Cleanup starts and gets stuck at 39%. I did whatever I was instructed to do by Nathan but to no avail. Please help.
Hi RVI,
Let us know the version of Norton 360 you use along with the Operating System details. Check if the Registry Cleanup stops at the "FONTS" section. If so, please contact the Symantec Technical Support through Online Chat and they will assist you further:

Thanks a lot, Contributor!
I sorted out the issue in a different way (please see below).
Thanks again for the suggestion!

Hi Yogesh Mohan,
Thanks a lot, for the tip! I got it done in a different way, serendipitously though.
I contacted Norton chat service and did whatever they asked me to do, but to no avail.
The next day, I ran CHKDSK for some other reason (using the My Computer > Disk to be cleaned > Properties > Tools > Check Now options). However, interestingly, after the CHKDSK was done, Norton Registry Cleanup started working smoothly.
Sharing this so that this may be prove to be useful to other users who may come across a similar problem with their registry cleanup.
