Hi folks! We installed Norton Antivirus 2012 through a CD in January, operating on Windows XP. One of the computers on our network (of 3) was running very slowly and it was mentioned that the operator rarely ran scans. We then ran malwarebytes and removed like 255 items. tdsskiller found nothing. We then tried to scan with our Norton Antivirus and it came back that there was an error and that we should re-install Norton. We did so from the CD, but the next day when we booted up, it came back and said the same thing. This time we noticed it gave an option of either using the CD or letting the program do an uninstall/reinstall. We did the latter. Then we ran a scan, everything seemed ok, the computer ran much faster (internet), but later, when we tried using our bookkeeping program, it and some of our Excel files came up all mish-moshed and certain aspects of the bookkeeping/payroll program didn't want to run right. I am convinced these errors don't have to do with what we did by running these anti-spyware/anti-virus programs, but the operator thinks it might. Is it possible the Norton program or one of the others could have picked up our bookeeping program as a virus or something?
Thanks in advance!
