I purchased Norton Security Standard when I purchased my Surface Pro 4 almost a year ago. A few months ago, I noticed that Norton's alerts and inter-workings just went away.
Recently, I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the product, but am getting the following:
1) when I try to uninstall via Windows App settings, I get a "Windows cannot find 'C;\Program Files (x86)\NortonInstaller\...\instStub.exe' error message
2) when i try to uninstall via the Norton installer I recently downloaded, I get a 'Restart Required Setup has detected that a previous patch has been completed but requires a restart, please restart to finish installing this version. I have clicked the provided restart button, which does nothing.
I have restarted my computer a few times over the past few weeks, but this error message doesn't change. Is there a way to work around either/both of these error messages so I can reinstall Norton?
I am currently running Windows 10 Pro Anniversary Edition, with the most updated patches.
Has anyone had this issue occur to them, what is the best route around this?
