I need to reinstall my norton on my android because i had to do a factory reset. the website shows it as already installed but it is not there and when i go to playstore to reinstall it, it says it is not compatible with my phone which is incorrect because it was on it b efore, same phone, same subscription. ho do i get my subscription back on the phone?
When i just went to playstore and clicked on norton 360 for android as instructed by your website chat, I was sent to AVG app. there is no norton 360 app like i had before. So now what? i am paying for use on 3 devices. it is only on new laptop now so i have two more, one of which is the phone.

@annamagnani What version Android is currently installed on your Note 8 ? Norton per their support article state Android version 10 or higher is required to install/reinstall Norton. If you have an older than version 10 installed you cannot reinstall the Norton app from the app store for those reasons. If you had it installed earlier and it was working that would have continued as long as the app was not removed.

Conversely, if you do not have at least Android 10 check for updates from your carrier, you may be able to upgrade in that manner.

the norton was working fine. the phone had to be wiped clean (long story) and reset. if the app was working fime, why can’t i put it back on? it was running perfectly. i am paying for use on three devices. it is now only on my new laptop. thx
What version of Android is installed? Because you factory reset the device it may have an older version of Android which Norton no longer supports. Its listed in the article I liked earlier. If you now have Android 10 or higher you should be able to reinstall the app. If you have a version of Android older than version 10 Norton doesn’t allow for fresh reinstallation. That is their policy unfortunately.

it says android version nine and i think you’re right. it probably got up to 10 but went back on the reset. That’s a shame. do you know anything about AVG? I understand it’s good, correct?
Thanks for the post back. You are correct in your post. Android 9 is not compatible. Have you checked for updates from your mobile carrier that would push your Android to version 10 at least? Tell us who your carrier is and I will look to verify they are still releasing updates for your Note 8.

AVG is major nagware from the reviews I can read. Have a look at Avira on the Play Store:
Or online MS Defender:

Is there any point in my contacting them? If it was on before, they can put it back on. I am paying for use on three devices and now only have it on one. Thanks for the other suggestion. I’ll look at Avire in Play store. Do you use an antivirus on your phone? Most people I know don’t put an antivirus on but that’s not meaningful… “most people”.
Yes!! I most certainly do use Norton on my Galaxy Z-flip on Android 15, UI 7.0. Once Norton was removed from your device with an older version of Android, and restored to the older version of Android, the most current version on the play store will fail to install because, your Android version is no longer supported. Support also won’t reinstall for you as the liability for it falls on them if your device becomes compromised.
