Reinstalling Norton 360 and account

My laptop recently stopped working and with no other choice, I am forced to reinstall windows vista from my recovery partition.

Once this recovers my laptop, I am planning on reinstalling Norton 360.

However, I have already used all 3 of the PC activations ( 2 on other machines, and one on this laptop), and I want to know if I will be able to active Norton 360 after I reinstall windows.

Hi name_I3ss,

You can install Norton 360 on your laptop because you are re/installing Norton 360 on the same hardware/same computer. 3x licence simply means that you can install it on 3 computers - but it doesn't matter how many times you deinstall and reinstall Norton 360 on each of those computers. To download your copy of Norton, you have to check the confirmation e-mail which was sent to you when you renewed your subscription; there should be a link for you to re-download your Norton product. You can also download the latest version of Norton 360 (version 3) from here:

http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20090501124807EN&selected_nav=1&pvid=

You will also find instructions telling you how to activate your product.

Should you run into any difficulties during product activation, then you can chat with Symantec Customer Support over here:

Hi name_l3ss,

Welcome to Norton Community!

You will be able to install and activate Norton 360 only if you have a valid Product Key. First check in your Norton Account through this LINK and make sure that you have valid Product key for Norton 360. You can download Norton 360 from any of the following links according to the Edition you have:

For Standard Edition: http://www.norton.com/n360s_3
For Premier Edition: http://www.norton.com/n360p_3

You can uninstall/reinstall the Norton 360 program on the same computer for any number of times. When you installed Norton 360 program after changing the harddisk, it may have counted as new install. No need to worry about license now, you can go ahead with using Norton 360 on one more computer without any problem. If, and Only If  you face any issues with activation/installation on other computer, then only you need to contact the Customer Services. At that time, you have to confirm that you have installed the product only on the single computer and they will assist you further to activation/installation Norton 360 on the other computer.
