Remaining activation not working

Have written three times to Norton Support over past week and not a single acknowledgement or response. This is my last attempt to seek support, else have to assume that Norton is dead and go with someone else.

I purchased 2 year renewal subscription for three PCs and have used up two licenses. I was told to clean up the licenses using Norton Management and have done so. However the activation kept telling me I have exceeded my allowance and won't activate my final license.

If anyone is out there, please response.

Welcome. When you log into your Norton Account what does it show for remaining activations? If it shows correctly, try logging in from the computer you wish to activate and click the Download button to download and install a preactivated version of your product. If the activations are not shown correctly, verify with the My Account tab in Norton Management that there are only the 2 activations, or click on the trash can on any activations you no longer use.

Appreciate your response.

Did all the above twice over past week with no success ... just tried mins ago with same result

Norton Account : Available Installs = 1

Norton Management : 2 device names

System to install on:-

- Windows XP Home Edition SP3

- was installed with NIS previously

- was asked to upgrade last week

- after upgrade, the subscription (6 months remaining) appeared as trial version for 15 days!

Have uninstall the Trial version and install from within Norton Account, no success.

Have been trying to key the same code daily, no success.

Please help.

Please click on Options in the top right of your last post, then on Edit reply. Delete your serial number from the post, as this could be used by bad guys.

On the problem PC, download the Norton Removal Tool from www.norton.com/nrt . If you use Identity Safe, backup/export your data. Run the removal tool, reboot. Log into your Norton Account and use the Download button. After installation, reboot. Manually run LiveUpdate a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available. Import your Identity Safe data. Let us know if this works.

Over the past hour, I used the nrt and went back into Norton Account to reinstall ... no success. I did noticed that the activation process continued to recognize 10 days of trial period remaining and failed to use the remaining installation to activate the product.

So I removed the trial version of NIS from Norton Management and remove all information within Norton Management. I used the nrt before logging into Norton Account and tried reinstallation ... no success.

Next I went into Windows's "Add or Remove Programs" to remove all Norton Management and NIS. Went back to Norton Account and reinstalled again ... no success.

I am not sure what else can I do to activate this last license. I can't afford to spend anymore time on this issue and will have to remove all NIS from all PCs and move on to another software for my company needs.

Hi laygan,

At this point in time I would suggest you contact Live chat, explain the situation to them and they should be able to get the situation straightened out for you.  I feel with everything you have tired, you will not be able to sort it out - they will need to.

Live chat- www.norton.com/chat

Please let us know how you get on.

Just to confirm, are you clicking on the download button beside your currently active subscription, and not the trial?

Thanks but no thanks.

As I mentioned at the very first sentence of my first post :-

Have written three times to Norton Support over past week and not a single acknowledgement or response.

I have provided emails three times and wrote three times of the same problem and I don't want to do another time and getting frustrated again of no response.

The fastest and easiest solution is to provide me with a new key for six months. It will save all of us lots of troubles and I will renew again when the subscription expires.

It's unfair to pay for three licenses and able to use two of them. Everything was fine until Norton asked me to upgrade!

There is no download button besides the Trial.

I just checked ... Norton Account : Available Installs = 1

The chat is not the same as emailing. The support session is live via the Internet. They have all the tools and access to the subscription databases to solve subscription issues. We have heard of VERY few issues they could not fix.

I have written THREE times on that same website and gave my email and mobile number in Malaysia. If they cannot call me in Malaysia, at least acknowledge and email me back. I have not hear anything. I don't see the reason of trying one more time. I started from Norton Malaysia and directed to this forum and same website that I have tried so many times with no response. If you don't support users from other countries, please indicate on the website so that we are aware of it.

One more try:

When you click the link I provided you'll see this:

Live Chat3.PNG

After selecting the appropriate items and clicking on the Orange Arrow,  you will get this:

Live Chat 2.PNG

After filling all items in, click on get support and you'll see the following three overlapped:

Click on Chat Now and you may get a wait screen as shown below - but someone wilol come on and you can "chat" just like using messaging.

Live chat wait.PNG

You do not need to send emails, wait for call backs etc.  Once a representative starts the messaging, you type in the space and click on Send and await their response.

BTW - unless we have a Red User Name we are customers the same as you are who volunteer our time trying to help other customers.   We can not and do not speak for Norton - especially when you make demands of free licensing etc. - we simply do not have the ability to make that happen.
