Is there a means to remotely enable GPS using Norton Mobile Security.
For the locate feature to work effectively, GPS is the best option. However leaving GPS on at all times is a power-waster.

Hi k1mgy.
No, there is no way to use Norton Mobile Security (NMS) to turn on GPS.
We have seen reports from at least one user claiming that GPS use by NMS consumes a lot of power but that does not appear to be the case normally.
Personally I always leave GPS enabled. As far as I can tell it only takes any power when an app uses it. And there is normally a reason for that.
Why not try it for a few days with GPS enabled and see if the power consumption goes up dramatically?
If you do try it, please let us know what you find.
I hope that was of some help.
Good luck.
I will try leaving it enabled. However I read there is at least one other product that provides for this. As location may not be very useful without GPS precision, GPS off reduces the usefulness of locate.
Perhaps Norton will implement it. Eg send SMS message "GPSON" "GPSOFF".
I might be able to script this myself :)
