I saved the data files from an infected PC to DVD and to a USB flash drive. I do not want to re-infect the newly reloaded PC but I would like to get the user data back. Using Norton 360 I seem to have lost the ability to scan a designated drive. I have 400 GB on my machine. I do not want to rescan the 400GB to scan each DVD. I do not want an autoload program that may have been placed on the DVD to infect my machine. (Note the infected PC was running Norton Internet Security when it was infected. The symptom was an installation of Antivirus 360, Norton Internet Security disabled and the inabilty to either start Norton Internet Security or reload it or access either www.symantec.com or www.Microsoft.com/downloads.) I have replaced the disk drive so I don’t need to recover anything. I just want to know what I need to get to enable me to scan a DVD or USB flash drive without scanning everything else? I also want to know if there is anyway to keep an autostart process from starting?
