Hi melpalmer,
Don't be too hard on Norton, this adware was user initiated. Since it was part of a downloaded add in program, and had to be accepted by the user, Norton will not remove it as it may be integral to the program to which it was attached.
Here is a link I found on the internet which seems to indicate easy removal instructions, however I have not tried them, nor can I vouch for the procedure. Be aware that once this adware is removed, the program which is associated with it may no longer function.
Why not consider creating a "guest (limited) account" for your son to prevent unauthorized downloads?
Best wishes

Please let us know if this helps. Otherwise we need to have another thing to help you out
Hi
Thanks for the prompt response. Unfortunately the solution didnot work - think the adware is quite malicious and buties it self outside of the core program. I have removed the sponsors add in and the core product but I still get the error.
Thanks for your support
Mel
Hi Mel,
Try downloading the TRIAL version of Norton AntiBot here and see if that helps in removing your problem.
If you still have issues, please post back. We may have a few more things up our sleeve!

Regards
Mel
If the malware is still on your system, I would recommend that you follow the steps listed in the How To Troubleshoot a Suspected Malware Infection announcement. Thanks!
