Removing a trial version of NIS

Hi,

My trial version of NIS that came with my new laptop is about to run out.

Very simple question, how do I remove it (I do not want to subscribe to it) fully?

Will it ask me to remove itself, or will I need to run the norton removal tool?

Thanks for any help you can give :)

Hello soccer255,

To get the cleanest uninstall, I would run the Norton Removal tool twice with a restart in between. You can download the Norton Removal Tool here.

Any reason why you don't want to stay with Norton?

Hi soccer255,

to fully remove NIS from your PC is using the Norton Removal Tool. Do these steps to remove the trial:

1. Download NRT (www.norton.com/nrt)

2. Uninstall NIS via Add/Remove programs in Control Panel

3. Reboot the PC

4. Run NRT 2-3 times, and reboot after every time

By the way do you have/plan to use any other security product? It is not safe to surf on the internet without any security product on your machine....

Yeah I know running a computer on the internet without precautionary software is dangerous:smileywink:

I'll probably be running AVG+Microsoft security essentials, I don't need something as hardcore as norton as I don't do much online with this computer anyway :smileyhappy:

Thanks to the both of you for you're help when the trial runs out (4 days) I'll do what you said, post back and let you know how it went :smileyhappy:

Thanks again.

Ran the NRT twice and everything is removed, thanks again for your help.
