I had to re-install my operating system because of a "C" hard drive problem. One side effect was to change the drive letter of the external drive on my system from "F" to "G" That in itself was no big deal until I tried to reconnect my Norton Online Backups and realized that 22 GB of data had been backed from the "F" drive!
So I decided to delete all the old "F" drive data from Norton Online via the "delete online..." in the "Manage Backup Sets" panel of N360.
I selected one folder with less than 1 GB and started the process. Imagine my surprise when it took more than one hour!
I tried another small folder and noticed the "Removing files..." dialog box shows a "Transferring: xx%" message which increments very slowly.
What the heck is Norton "transferring"??? I don't need the files transferred from Norton's servers back to my machine in order to delete them! (At least I should NOT need for that to happen!)
Is there some setting that will speed this process up?
At this rate, it will take days just to delete the old files, and then I have to rerun the backups again which will take more days.
I have a high-speed cable connection, so this has to be some kind of glitch or throttle in the N360 process.
As it stands now, the N360 Online Backup is nearly useless......
