I have previously added a file to the SONAR exclusion list via the Quarantine Restore process. Is there a way to remove that excluded file from the list? How would one do that? Is the exclusion list stored somewhere in my system? Many Thanks in advance.
Thank you for your quick response. I have already check there, the file is not listed in neither Scan Exclusions nor Signature Exclusions. Any other suggestions.
The only known way to remove the SONAR exclusion is to remove NIS / NAV / N360 totally (uninstall from Add / Remove programs and / or using the Norton Removal Tool [available here]) and reinstalling the product.
On the other hand, the exclusion is based on the file's Hash signature; if the file in question every changes, the exclusion in the SONAR database is invalid and scanning will once again take place.
Actually the will be good to asked to be placed into the next version, the ability to easily see a list of all exclusions including Sonar and be able to remove them with a click also.
As dbrisendine said, as of now the only way for the user to remove the SONAR exclusions is to uninstall the product and reinstall it. During uninstall the user can select to retain the other settings and still get the SONAR exclusions list reset.
Having to uninstall for this reason is another reason why Symantec products shouldn't have a limit on the times the product has to be uninstalled and reinstalled. It would also cut down on the number of calls to customer support too.
