Renewal Notice

As of today 9-1-09, I have 207 days left on my NIS 2009 subscription.  Just a few minutes ago, a renewal notice popped up onto my computer screen indicating I should renew my subscription and the popup showed 207 days left.  I was surprised by this.  I hit the cancel link to get rid of the popup.

Isn't it too early for a renewal reminder?  Do you think this a glitch and I should just ignore it if it should appear again?  This is the first time that I got a reminder this early.

I only got my reminder notice about 1 month before my subscription ran out...I've never heard or read of a subscription reminder popping up 207 days in advance ;-)) If it pops up again, you may want to contact Customer Support because it's they who deal with subscription issues; they might tell you that you have to synchronise your product with your Norton account. Here's the link in case you want to chat with them:

Hi Blue452,

Do you have any Norton products other than NIS 2009?

The latest update for NIS 2009 is 16.7.2.11. I would suggest you to run LiveUpdate repeatedly until you see the message "no more updates..." and then restart your computer. Also, check/run the One Click Support option, if there are any problem, it will notify you. Let us know how it goes. If you see the message again, take a screenshot of it and post it.

Yogesh

Thank you Yaso_Kuuhl and yogesh_mohan for responding.

So far the renewal notice has not made a reappearance.  Hope it stays that way.  Thanks for the suggestion of what to do if it does reappear again.

Yogesh - NIS 2009 is the only Norton product on my machine.  I followed your suggestion and ran LiveUpdate repeatedly, but it's still version 16.7.2.10.  I just now read on another thread that said that the new version is a controlled release.  I'll get it eventually I guess.  But thanks for the suggestion.

Have a nice day/evening.

Hi Blue452,

Glad to hear that the box has not popped up again. Sometimes, the funniest glitches happen ;-)

As for the patch: it is currently being pushed out via LiveUpdate in stages and there is no definite date with regard to the patch being uploaded to the installation packages in the update center. As soon as things are clearer, this thread, posted by a Symantec employee, will be updated with more information. In the meantime, it's all a matter of waiting, as you said ;-)))

When it is 30Days and Less of the Subscription, you will get Reminded about once or twice-a-week with Norton 2009 Products.

If it happens again, just Run the Auto-Fix Tool, because this should sort out Subscription Issues as well.

And you're correct; the Norton 2009 Products are being Released in a Contolled Manner, which means it could take a few weeks for everyone to get the Norton 2009 Product Update.  A Message may be Posted once the New Version has been Released to everyone.
