Renewal of trial subscription

I just hooked up a new PC yesterday and it came with a 60 day trial period.  I want to renew my trial subscription.  will it start at the end of my trial subscription if I purchase it today?  Also wanted to know if I get the subscription that is good for 3 PC's can I use 1 today and the other 2 at the end of my trial period.

The trial is the full version of whatever Norton you have.  If you purchase a subscription, you should key in the activation near the end of the trial period.  Once you put in the key, the days are not added on.  The three licences are activated at the same time, when the first one is used and is good for the specified time, one or two years.

Joe,

Just to avoid misunderstandings later, could you confirm whether your trial version is of Norton 360 (which is covered in this Forum) or of Norton Internet Security or Norton AntiVirus (which have their own Forum).

I think Norton 360 only comes in a 3 PC version (or a 5 PC version) at least as far as the Norton web site is concerned but there is a Standard and a Premiere Version which have 2GB and 25GB free online storage respectively.

I'm asking for confirmation to avoid confusion in case the question of downloading the installation file comes up -- and of course if you do buy a copy you need to get the storage option you want.

And to doubly confirm, yes you can use the other 2 activations later but all will expire on the anniversary of the first use -- and if you activate before the end of the trial you lose any unexpired days of the trial period so don't do that right away. But you can buy now if you see a cheap, legitimate copy and only use the KEY when you are ready.

Thank You PapauZ.   I have one more question.  If I were to purchase the 3pc package,  would I be able to install it on my 6 month computer that I am giving to my mom (at a different address than my own)  ?  Thanks in advance

As far as I can tell I have Norton Internet Security, (trial version)  But am looking to purchase the Norton 360.  Do to being able to use it on 3 PC's  I would like to load one of them on my 6 month old computer that I am giving to my Mom (which is going to be at a different address?   Thanks in advance for all your help

If you buy 360, you will not be able to extend your current NIS trial, as those are different products.

I would say you should first read the EULA (http://www.symantec.com/about/profile/policies/eulas/index.jsp) and if in that there's nothing about this topic you should contact customer support.

When you do change to N360 you probably should remove the NIS trial installation first rather than just install on top and let N360 do the removal.

If you continue to look after that old PC as if it were your own, and bearing in mind that (a) you have to activate it on that PC using your own email address and MyNortonAccount on line and (b) all 3 activations start running when you activate the first one, I suggest you draw your own conclusions from what you can determine about the licence from the legal documents made available (which is not very much).
