How many days in front of my expiration date should I Renew my subscription? And will I lose those days or will those days be added to the new subscription?
Thanks

Hi zr1pete,
Wait until the last day of your expiration, but do not let your subscription expire altogether, or Norton will become non-functional. If you renew your product with a new product key (for example, if you buy a whole new boxed version), then you will lose the days from your old subscription. If you simply purchase a renewal (=extension) of your subscription (in which case you keep your old product key), then the days from your old subscription will be added to the new one.
You can read more on subscriptions, renewals etc. over here in Tony Weiss's post:

HI Yaso_Kuuhl and thanks for your reply, This is the answer I was looking for. I will wonder no more.......

You won't be automatically upgraded but it will tell you that the upgrade exists and has been downloaded to your computer ready for you to install if you want to.
Especially if you are on a slow or a metered connection you may want to turn off this feature in the settings so that it does not do the automatic download. That's what I prefer myself. Then when I hear about the upgrade, and maybe let some others download it first, I can initiate the upgrade after I've backed up stuff and it's a convenient moment for me to do the download and installation.
I don't have N 360 installed so I can't tell you exactly where this option is located but I suspect there's a setting to do with Updates and Notifications .... If you have a problem finding it just shout.
If you are buying a new copy of Norton 360 because it's on sale cheaper than a renewal then as indicated wait until a couple of days before you enter the KEY for the copy you bought since a new copy wipes out the unexpired time, although Norton Support are good at adding it back in if you ask them online via CHAT.
When you are ready to enter the new KEY and you click on Subscribe / Renew down where it gives the number days remaining you should find a box for Have Existing Key so use that on the first installation.
For the others it should only be necessary to click on Support / Subscription Status to synchonize them but if you have a problem let us know -- that's why we suggest doing it a couple of days before the old subscription runs out.
I assume the upgrade is free if you still have an active subscription.
Yes absolutely free if your subscription is still in force ....
When it comes out do log in here and watch for comments and how best to upgrade.
I have Norton 360 V5 on 3 machines (3 pc version). They will expire in 30 days. If I purchase a new program today (still V5), will I automatically be upgraded to V6 (now in beta) when it is issued? Also, if I enter the new validation code today, will I have 365 days or 395 days (new 360 plus 30 days left on old subscription)?
Thanks for the info Hugh, Will comply.
Pete.
You know where to find us if you have a problem ....
Can I renew my subscription of Norton 360 v6 with no days left remaining? Or should I do it with 1 day left remaining.
Thanks
Pete
The best way would be for your family member to go into their Norton Account, and click on the Download page on the main account page. Then choose the option to install on a different computer. Have them send an email to you and then you follow the instructions in that email. That way you do not need access to their product key, or their Norton Account credentials.
Hello trunkschan90. Follow this guide, if the products are currently supported you shouldn't have any issues.
