It's time to renew my Norton 360 in a few days but the price is +- £70 which seems a bit steep compared to a new subscription, especially as one of my 2 laptops is unable to download updates or to install anything from Norton after (on advice when the updates couldn't download) I uninstalled a couple of months ago to be able to start again, couldn't reinstall and just had to go to Windows Defender. It also cannot connect to support on remote control which I have tried a number of times so no help or suggestions from that direction. Weird as it accesses the Norton website and any other sites without any problems and other than being a bit slow (it's about 5 years old) it seems to work perfectly well. It could be Windows 10 upgrade which happened around the same time as the problem with Norton started but my other laptop (fairly new) has no problems with Norton.
Anyway, to cut a long story a little shorter, it seems that I can get much the same package from McAfee for around £40 and who knows, perhaps I will be able to download from them to the problem laptop.
