Issue abstract:Every couple of minutes I get an alert that N360 has detected infection of one particular file. The file is then quarantined … and over a hour or so there’s a long list of that same file in the Quarantine folder.
Detailed description: How do I clear the infection so that I don’t get these endless alerts?

Thanks in part to a hint from BJM and PETERWEB I think I’ve solved the problem. It took a while!
I installed MalwareBytes and did a full scan, rootkits and all .. but it found nothing, just as Norton 360 found nothing.
Switching back-and-forth between Norton 360 and MalwareBytes (no, I did not run them simultaneously!) I began to notice what looked like inconsistent behaviour from Norton. So I ’repaired’ it … but that didn’t halt the stream of duplicate detections.
So then I uninstalled it and reinstalled N360 …. all has been blissfully peaceful ever since. No more constant stream of duplicate detections.
The Norton 360 Remover tool here is used to uninstall or remove and reinstall your latest version of Norton device security product on your Windows device.
Depending on your situation, you can:
Remove the current version and automatically reinstall the latest version of the product
Only remove the existing version
fwiw ~ my practice is to also scour File Explorer for remnants and run CCleaner registry tool. Just me
