Replace NIS 2012 Licence # with NIS 2013 #

I am currenty using norton 2012 internet security and would like to renew my subscription

by adding a license number from norton 2013 internet security and wanted to know if i had

to buy a 2012 licence  or if i could use a licence from 2013 instead.

 

If i can use the 2013 license on 2012 do i have to update to 2013 , i read there are problems

with 2013 bogging down systems and wish to remain on 2012.

If you purchase a 2013 product and wish to stay with 2012, you will probably have to contact Support to get a replacement product key. This is a known issue. You do not have to upgrade to use the 2013 key.

Hmmm thats interesting because I used a 2013 key on a 2012 install and it worked without a problem.  I guess I didnt get hit the the issue, thats why I had said what I said in the post.  If I knew it was an issue then I wouldve never replyed

There was a post that noted 'some keys may not work', but when I tried to get clarification, the concensus was that all keys had a problem.

 

Maybe my original thought was correct and some will work.

 

I will continue to give a heads up on the possibility of a problem, just in case.

Thankyou Peterweb , I just purchased NIS 2013 and used the key on 2012 without any issues . I am running

NIS 2012 Version 19.9.0.9
