Bartels tell me that

"While we fully understand your concern about malicious software in general,
we can assure that PhraseExpress does not contain any virus or spyware. We kindly ask you to report the false alarm to your "security" software aker. They depend on such information to correct the virus database to
avoid erratically triggering alarms. "

Gosh - that was a quick response! Will do - thanks

Lol, you’re welcome

Submitted and then was sent another url to complete another form  https://submit.symantec.com/dispute/insight/. I think someone at Symantec’s end did not read what I wrote properly and thought I was the software developer.

Try submitting the false positive again but state clearly that you are not the software developer ;-) Please make sure that you have ticked "No" under "I am the vendor of the potentially mis-identified software", and you can state in the "Additional information" box that your first submission was misread.

However, I see that the other form also allows you to submit a false positive even if you are not the creator of the software - it says the following:

End users may also use this form. Please be sure to specify that you are a user and not the creator of this software in the form.

It also give you the option to specify whether you are the software creator or the software user.

Thanks - When I filled in the form I said I was not the developer, so hopefully a human at the other end will use some common sense…

Let’s keep our fingers and toes crossed
