Request for Improvement of Norton Support Page Navigation Design

Note: Please do not post Personally Identifiable Information like email address, personal phone number, physical home address, product key etc.

Issue abstract:

Detailed description:As a long-time Norton user, I would like to submit a suggestion regarding the navigation design of the Norton support pages.

Recently, while attempting to resolve account and subscription-related issues, I experienced considerable difficulty identifying the appropriate support entry point.

Although the current support system provides general technical support categories, it can be difficult for users to determine where to seek assistance for situations such as:

  • subscription or contract-related issues
  • billing and payment concerns
  • general product inquiries
  • cases involving multiple overlapping issues
  • situations that do not clearly match existing categories

As a result, users may repeatedly navigate between pages, re-login, or repeat authentication procedures while attempting to locate the correct support channel. In some cases, this may even contribute to authentication restrictions or account lock situations.

As constructive suggestions, I would respectfully ask Norton to consider enhancements such as:

  • a clearly visible “Other Inquiries” support entry
  • dedicated navigation for billing/subscription-related support
  • a general product inquiry category
  • a “Not sure which category applies?” guidance option
  • guided support routing based on issue type
  • brief explanations for each support category

While Norton’s security measures are strong and appreciated, the current navigation structure may make it difficult for legitimate users to quickly reach the appropriate support destination depending on the nature of their issue.

I hope Norton will consider improving the balance between security, usability, and accessibility within the support experience.

Thank you for your consideration.

I’ll usually bypass the intended guidance flow when I want to reach a live agent.
When I’m not seeking self-service content.
When I’m seeking interactive support.
I’ll bypass presets guidance flow – bypass the knowledge-base layer.
When I’m not in browse mode.
When I’m in a resolution mode.
I’ll click through preset categories – click thru knowledge-base suggestions.
~ just me ~

I think we may be talking about slightly different things.

My point wasn’t about whether users prefer to bypass the guidance flow.

It was that there are cases where, even if users try to skip the preset flow and KB layer, they still don’t successfully reach a live agent.

Hello @yo-ta

Norton Social Media → Message
If you cannot reach official Norton support via chat/phone, Norton’s social media teams may be more responsive than the automated support website:

  • X (Twitter): official Norton page @X/NortonSupport → Message
  • Facebook: official Norton page @facebook/Norton → Message
  • Benefit: A human usually responds to DMs within an hour without having to click through tiles.

Thank you for the detailed and thoughtful analysis.

I think the core issue is not the existence of automation itself, but whether users can reliably reach human support when self-service fails.

From the user perspective, the backend reasons do not matter very much if the escalation path becomes inconsistent, hidden, or effectively unreachable.

That is why I see this primarily as a support accessibility issue rather than simply a usability inconvenience.

I am not arguing that automation should be removed. I believe automation should fail gracefully and visibly hand off to a human when needed.

The variability between regions, account states, session conditions, and support availability may also contribute to users experiencing very different versions of “Norton support,” which can make the system feel unpredictable for ordinary users.
