Re Norton Internet security 2011

Whilst the rest of the  world is aiming to reduce / automate the interface between people and programs / apps,  why do Norton feel they need to produce such huge front ends full of choice most people would not know what they meant let alone if they want them? Things you will probably never need to change or would be ill advised to change, why tempt fate just hide them all.  I bought a product to safeguard my machine. I want one big button that says GO and after that I want it to look after my interest quietly, in the background, to do its updates automatically,  not ask me to reboot,  not require anything else from me. It is a service package, I paid my money for you to look after me wisely. If I had wanted a degree in Cyber crime, I would go to university and get one.  I mean seriously  would you go into a top class restaurant order a meal and then expect to have to tell the chef how to cook it, what goes in it and when it is done - no you would not!!!  So why cannot software techies get it in their head - they are the experts, I am the customer - I know they are clever, I just don't need it proving by bloated front ends. End of rant ......... grrrrrrrrr!!!!       Please start applying a modicum of sense and perhaps remember the largest growth group on the internet are silver surfers - the over 60's the baby boomers what ever you want to call us. We want a quiet life we are not all that tech savvy - if need be offer a choice" Your do it" or " we do it. "
