Restore won't work; bizarre error message

Yesterday I did a routine Drive C backup to my external HD. Today I tried to restore from that backup. I launched Ghost, selected RECOVER MY COMPUTER, highlighted yesterday's recovery point, and got this gibberish:

RECOVER MY COMPUTER

Cannot validate the recovery point destination for file 'Dell Backups]\Norton Backups\MyComputer_E_Drive002_i001.iv2i'.

-Info 6C8f1c25: Cannot validate the recovery point destination for file 'Dell Backups]\Norton Backups\MyComputer_E_Drive002_i001.iv2i'. - The selected destination contains the recovery point being restored and cannot be overwritten.

Also, whenever I plug in that external drive, I get a little window on my desktop, showing that a bunch of FBF files are being copied from somewhere to somewhere, for no known reason.

I wonder if the Ghost folks have ever fired up a Mac and seen how Time Machine works.  Maybe they could hire some of those programmers away from Apple.

Hi JustSomeGuy,

Open the recovery point browser from the Tools menu and see if you can run  "Verify"  the selected recovery point.

If that fails then run a "One Time Backup" from the "tasks" menu and see if that will recover ok.

When you boot with the SRD and get onto the recovery screen look to see if the selected recovery point is valid before you try and recover.

As far as the Mac is concerned I haven't a clue 'cos I don't use one.
