After restoring my files they have 'appeared' in a seperate folder named restored files. This folder is showing in my 'C' drive. I was under the impression that they would populate back to their original places.
For example I have a programme ACDSee Photo Manager 12, all my folders are still there, but they are empty.
Can I just slide the 'restored files' folder across into 'my documents' in order for them to find their original positions?
I am XP, and have vers 5.1.0.29. on 360.
Hi wgg1848,
Can you please let us know how did you restore your files?
Did you used Restore files from the Main UI>> Backup pillar or did you use Arestore.exe if your backup set is in any ext hard drive?
But in both the options there is a provision for you to restore to in the Original location where it will ask for your confirmation to replace your already existing files, and then your backup set will be restored in the files original location.
Let us know your results.
Regards,
Ashwini.
Hello
Sorry about this delay in replying.
I restored my files from an external drive using Arestore.exe
i must have missed the 'option' you mention which reinstates them in their original location.
What is the best way to get them back where they belong?
Hi wgg1848,
You can restore the files through Arestrore.exe. In the restore UI, select the files to restore and give the location where it has to be restored.. In you case you have to select the Original location as your destination.
Thanks,
Ashwini.
