I was getting I/O errors on my wife's Win7 PC, along with other issues. Was able to complete a full disk backup with ghost 15. Went a bought a new 1TB SATA drive ( same capacity as old drive). The old drive had three partitions (factory restore image 14GB, system reserved 100MB, and C: drive 9xxGB). I tried restoring the system reserved and C: drives using system restore 2013 disc that I downloaded. The restore completed, but when I try to boot up, literally, nothing happens. No error, nothing. Just sits there. I then plugged in the old/bad drive back, along with the new drive. I could see that sys SRD did copy all the files over onto the new disk. I am assuming there is something amiss with the boot sector, etc, but don't know enough about it to try to fix it. Any suggestions? BTW, I also had my three gateway recover DVD disks that I made originally from the machine, and tried to do a full system restore onto the new drive. That said it completed, and would not boot up either. Maybe a bad drive?
THanks!
