Restoring a backup set from another machine

How do I restore from a backup set created from a machine other than the one I am restoring on? My old PC has crashed and is beyond economic repair, so I want to restore the data from that machine onto a new one. Backup set was created on Norton 360 3.0

I get a message saying "Unable to load resource. Please ensure that ARestore.loc is in current directory". (I am using the version of AResore I found in the Norton 360 3.0 directory)

It takes both those files.   ARestore.exe and  ARestore.loc

Put both of them on the drive holding the backups, not within any folders but on the "root" of the drive.

Then run arestore.exe.
