Retrieve Saved Logins after upgrade of Windows Vista to Windows 7

I am running Norton 360 v 4.0 and had all my logins managed by the Login facility.  I have upgraded the OS from Windows Vista to Windows 7 (had to do a fresh install rather than upgrade) and have lost the logins.  Is there a way of recovering the login information, as I had backed up the directories prior to the OS change.

Please come back and let us know if this has helped. Thanks.

I can follow the thread, but can't seem to find the files I need.  Are they in a different location for Vista with Norton 360?

Hello jlcoombs,

Depending upon how you backed up the directories, retrieval may be possible.

Check this post by Symantec Employee Thalir.

Please disregard the references to Ghost. This procedure outlines where the files are stored and how to retrieve them.

If you cannot locate the files at the listed location due to your operating system or Norton version, perform a search of the drive for IdentitySafeDataStore to find the location of the folder.

As an example, on my Win7 x64 system, the location is:

C:\ProgramData\Norton\{0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}\NIS_18.1.0.37\IdentitySafeDataStore\S-1-5-21-251.....

Let us know how you do.
