This is for NIS version 22.5.2.15.
We normally run LiveUpdate, disconnect from the Internet, then run a full scan (off-line). NIS now gives us a scary message that says it won't work properly when it is not connected. This message has no details to tell us what this really means.
We need a program that can do a full scan when it is off-line. We have been using Norton for a number of years now, and we would rather stay with Norton, but we need off-line full scanning capability.
Also, if we suspect we have a virus, we don't leave it connected to anything, any longer than necessary, to keep it from spreading. Requiring NIS to be connected to do a full scan, it seems to me, is a bit dangerous.
If this message just means NIS wants to run LiveUpdate first, then it's not really a problem, and I suggest you put that in the message. But if NIS's capability is somehow limited when it is off-line, please fix this so we can do a full-scan (or a QuickScan) when we are off-line.
Thank you.
