Hi, it might be a question with an obvious answer but why is it with mmy Norton 360 set to receive automatic updates that when I manually run live updates there's usually some to down load. Do automatic updates only happen at certain times?

Pulse updates - new virus definitioins are received whenever they are available. Sometimes only minutes apart. Other updates - admin, program, etc., are called by your program only a few times each day. Unless you time your manual update to happen immediately after one of the called auto updates there is likely to be something to download. The concept is to keep your protection at a maximum without degrading your ability to use your computer as you deem necessary.
